Common Questions
One of the important things to do during you home inspection is to ask questions. Someone once said, "the dumbest question is the one that is not asked" is true for home inspections. Whether you are a first time buyer, or experienced homeowner, there is almost always something that you have never seen before, or is downright confusing. Ask your home inspector!
Here are some questions that have been asked.
Q: Should I attend the home inspection?
A: In a word, YES! This is your chance to invest a bit of time in your future home. You will hear first-hand about each of the various components and features of the home. You will have an opportunity to ask questions . I believe you will better understand the written report if you have seen each of the areas of concern yourself.
Q: How long will the inspection take?
A: A thorough home inspection will take 2 to 3 hours and sometimes longer for large properties.
Q: Should a newer home have a home inspection?
A: Absolutely. One of most defective homes I ever inspected was built in 1983.
Q: Where did the name "Mystic" come from? Are you some sort of Sorcerer?
A: Not at all! Mystic gives the company name some North Shore flavor, since he covers the Mystic River watershed area.
